Lawn care and snow removal in Elk River

Mowing in July, plowing in January, one crew all year

One agreement covers the weekly mow and the snow route. Twelve of us, one phone number, and a driveway that's clear in the morning.

  • Weekly mowing, April through October
  • Snow route, November through March

Pick the season

Same crew, same number, two routes

Tap a season to see what the year looks like. The agreement is one document either way.

  • April through October

    Summer: the lawn route

A weekly mow on the same weekday, with the trimming and edging done each visit. The spring and fall clean-ups are on the plan, so the beds are ready for the season and bare for the first snow.

    • Mow, trim, edge and blow every week

    • Spring clean-up and fall leaf pickup

    • Rained-out visits move to the next dry day

  • November through March

    Winter: the snow route

We plow the driveway and clear the front walk once snow reaches the trigger depth in your agreement, then salt. The routes run in a set order, and your place in it is written on the page you sign.

    • Driveway plowed past the trigger depth

    • Front walk cleared and salted

Your lot gets its own written quote. No plan covers tree or brush work, roof snow, deck or stair shoveling, or hauling snow off the lot. Cancel before a season's first visit and you owe nothing for it; after that, unused visits are credited and you pay for the visits made. Plans cover our visits only, not property damage you cause or storm damage.

The year

A year on the Stubbs route

Cool-season lawns and a long winter set the calendar. Dates move with the weather.

  • April: spring clean-up

Leaves and winter debris out of the beds and off the lawn, edges cut, and a first mow once the grass is growing.

  • May to October: weekly mowing

The same weekday, the same crew. In a dry stretch we raise the cut height instead of scalping the lawn.

  • Late August to mid-September: aeration and overseeding

An add-on for thin lawns. Cool-season grass seeds best before the nights turn cold.

  • October: leaf pickup and fall clean-up

Leaves come off the lawn and out of the beds before the first snow, so the plow doesn't push them into a pile.

  • November: trucks change blades

Mowers go away and plows come out. Snow agreements are placed on the route in the order they're signed.

  • December to March: the snow route

Plowed past the trigger depth, walks cleared, salt where it's needed.

Who answers

Raven runs both routes

She mows in July and plows in January. When you text, it's her or Stefania who texts back.

Twelve people work the route, and most of them do both seasons. That's the point of the agreement: the crew that learns your lawn is the crew that learns where the snow goes, and the person who signs your quote is the person who knows the route.

What a few neighbors say about the year

“The mower guy and the plow guy turned out to be the same crew. They knew where the septic lid was in July and where the mailbox was in January.”

Soren D.Elk River

“One text thread for everything. I asked for the leaves to go before the first snow and they were done the same week.”

Nadine R.Otsego

“I signed up in October. The agreement said where I sat on the route, so I stopped wondering when the plow would come.”

Questions

Before you sign for the year

What does a year with you cost?

It depends on the size of the lot, the length of the driveway and how many walks we clear. The plans page shows what each plan includes; your agreement carries your own numbers.

How soon can you start?

Text us your address in spring and we'll set a first mow once the grass is growing. In the fall, the snow route fills in the order agreements come in, so we say where you sit before the first snowfall.

Are you licensed and insured?

Our business filing and the insurance record are in the footer of every page. We send a certificate of insurance on request, before the first visit.

What happens at the estimate?

One of us walks the lot with you, or you text photos and a street address. We measure the lawn and the driveway, note the slope and where snow can go, and send a written quote by text or email.

How do I pay?

Each plan is billed on a set schedule written into the agreement. We take checks and card payments; the quote lists the schedule and the methods.

What if it rains, or it's too cold to mow?

Mowing moves to the next dry day on your route. A skipped visit is not billed. In winter, we plow when snow reaches the trigger depth in your agreement.

What should I do before you come?

In summer, pick up hoses, toys and dog chains. In winter, mark the edges of the driveway if you can and move cars off the pavement. Tell us about sprinkler heads, pet fences and anything under the lawn.

Which towns do you cover?

Elk River and towns in Sherburne, Anoka and Wright counties. The service area page lists them, and where we don't go.
